Body Positive Photoshoot is Life Changing

Yes Women It’s True to Love yourself is to move mountains and what an amazing act of love it is when you gift yourself with a photoshoot like Maricela from The Twins PR did for herself a few months ago before she got pregnant with her baby. And what a gift it was for us to work on something so uplifting and more then special with her before she started her journey into motherhood.

Take a glimpse below of the shoot that we did at Beyond Studios with this fun Cali girl; and if you like what you see don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

Couples Mindfully in LOVE!

Here are some of the people that made me truly love capturing small weddings. I’m talking about no less then 30 guests kind of weddings. There is something special about small nuptials that flies me to the moon and back. The couples are all So stress free, laid back, and truly living in the moment.

Special thanks to Dee who was there documenting these beautiful moments with me and for sticking by my side through all my shenanigans for the past 4 years now. Thank you my friend!

Let GO and Live Alot!

I am happy to start this rejuvenating journey into nude photography again…it’s been almost a decade. And I'm so blessed to have Lu grace my camera on an early summer's morning at the creek. I learned through this process that letting go of fear is the best thing you can do for yourself. And letting go of whatever that doesn't serve your good nature is so ideal. So let's not be afraid of who we truly are and love ourselves fully because life is short and we should live it up! Get in touch with me if you are ready to live a little bit outside your comfort zone because you can be even more then who you think you are now.

Glow Vicky Glow

Me and my family started practicing yoga with Ms. Vicky at Grace. Studios in Silver Spring and our lives have improved drastically since then. We are healthier and way more laid back now that we practice yoga and meditation. We value this gift she gave through her light and we wanted develop some fun yoga maternity portraits at this safe and beautiful space.

Thank you for the love, your awesomeness and your all around amazing vibes Ms Vicky … can’t wait to meet your baby boy! Also a huge special thanks to Grace Studios !!

You're school friends will miss you when you're gone to other adventures after graduation so why not take your senior pictures with us so they can remember you by like Gabriella, this bubbly burst of joy who came all the way from Texas to have me take her portraits to celebrate her senior year. I loved hearing all about her big plans for the future as we made our way around Glenview Mansion in the Rockville Civic Center Park area in such a gorgeous yet windy day.

Tips on What to Wear for Engagement Photos

Fall and spring are two of the most popular times of the year for engagement photos. Spring blooms and fall leaves are gorgeous, so it’s a great time to schedule your photo session!

Engagement photo sessions are also usually the first time you work with your photographer, and the first time you and your fiance have professional photos taken together. That can be super-exciting….but it can also make brides and grooms a little nervous because you don’t know what to expect, what to do, how to act, or what to wear.

I can’t tell you how many times couples have arrived at photo sessions, and they’ve told us how nervous they are. But, by the time we’re in the middle of the session, they say how easy it is and how much fun they’re having! We really try our best to make it a fun, relaxed photo session where couples can be themselves. That’s the sweet spot where we get great photos of you, who you are as an individual and also as a couple.

Engagement photo shoots help us build rapport with you before the wedding day. We also often find that couples are more relaxed about photos when the wedding day arrives because they’ve already worked with us at their engagement photo shoot. You are more relaxed in front of our cameras, and you know what to expect!

Many couples have two outfits for their engagement session. They start the photo session wearing dressy clothes, and then change into more casual clothes (or vice versa). Consider bringing an outfit to change into mid-way through your session.

Suggestions on What to Wear

  • Choose comfortable clothes: If you’re not comfortable, it will be noticeable in the pictures. Also, wear comfortable shoes if your location will include a lot of walking. But don’t wear tennis shoes! More like choose to wear cute flats or boots with a low heel rather than 5-inch stilettos.
  • Choose clothing that compliments your personality: Make sure your clothes look like “you” and fit your personality.
  • Coordinate your clothing with each other: Wear clothes that are the same level of “dressyness.” and wear similar shades that compliment each other. Choose clothes that look best on you.
  • Choose clothes to compliment your location: If you are taking pictures in a field or the mountains, consider clothes with more natural colors. And if you are taking pictures in a downtown area, you might consider more urban clothes with bolder colors.
  • Choose colors that compliment your skin tone: For example, if you have light skin, white clothing can wash out your complexion in photographs.

1st Year Anniversary Portraits

Chelsea mentioned to Sam that she really wanted to have their portraits done for their first year anniversary. They are from Cincinnati but were going to be in the DC area visiting family so they decided to celebrate their anniversary here with a photoshoot. They found us via Yelp, adored our previous work and enjoyed our reviews and long story short hired us to photograph them.

Bookworms So In Love

A couple who share a love for books found us via Thumbtack and I'm so thankful they did because their idea for having  an engagement portrait session in a library was brilliant. We clicked right away and a few hours later we were headed to Georgetown library to meet for the portrait session. Brandy, from Texas and Royce from Colorado were all giddy and so in love when I saw them walking up to the building to meet me. I loved them right away; their energy was inviting and their enthusiasm was fun to work with. When the session was over after they spoiled me with some blush wine at a French bistro, Bonaparte Cafe, I didn't want to leave my new friends behind but I had to go to another gig for more photography adventures. Nonetheless, it was a photo shoot for the books...literally.. HA!

Congrats my lovely new amigos

Woman Portrait on Location

Me and my Makeup artist Thais had the pleasure of working with Kay, a gorgeous local female entrepreneur who is also a single mom. #GRLPWR !! What an inspiration...OMG! We did two looks for her portrait session in Old town Alexandria, VA. Not sure which one look is our favorite because she rocked them both so well. These Portraits are not stiff but carefree and that is exactly what she wanted. Making the client happy and feeling beautiful =  priceless goal. Plus we live for smiles like hers. Cheers to you Kay!

Best Engagement Session of the Year

I had the pleasure of photographing these two peas in a pod, my friends, Keila and Toti, to celebrate their engagement and I was floored with their beautiful admiration for one another while capturing moments between the two of them. We strolled around Georgetown near the Canal and up to the M St. and even though it was cold we hardly didn't care because we were having such a blast doing this shoot. If I got a cold it was totally worth it. I literally couldn't be more happier for them on this new journey and with the results of these amazing images too ...See for yourselves below - come on you know you love them.

Congratulations once again amigos queridos!!
